Nynke Laverman is born in Friesland, The Netherlands, a province with its own language. Frisian is her first language. In she finished her studies at the School of Performing Arts in Amsterdam. On her first album SIELESÂLT (Salt of the soul, ) she introduced the ‘Frisian fado’, a combination that was never made before.
